The only red wine variety in Alsace, this pinot noir comes from a terroir made of sedimentary clay-limestone rock. The colour is ruby red and in the mouth it is dry and slightly tannic, with red fruit compote and blackcurrant notes on the aftertaste. Beautiful aromatic power mixed with suppleness and a little spice to finish. It can be enjoyed chilled or opened slowly by letting it warm up.
It is suitable for red meats, beef tongue, lasagne and cheeses with a bloomy rind such as Camembert. It is also a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats and summer barbecues, as well as dishes in sauce such as beef bourguignon and carbonnade flamande.
